New Albany High School Production of HAIRSPRAY was Awesome!

I’m still smiling 3 days after attending the New Albany High School’s production of Hairspray this weekend at the McCoy Center!  It was so good you totally forgot that you were watching students act, sing and the orchestra play.  It’s no wonder that it was “Sold Out” 3 nights in a row!  There were some real stand-out performances and I suspect we’ll hear more from these talented kids.

The McCoy is just another reason to love where we live!  New Albany, Ohio rocks!  Performances to look forward to in December include the New Albany Children’s Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker December 10th-12th, and the Holiday Spectacular concert presented by the New Albany Symphony 3pm on December 19th.  You can hardly believe this facility and the caliber of the productions is right in our own backyard.  Don’t take the chance of missing out because of a Sold Out performance – contact the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts to buy your tickets today!

Columbus, Ohio Named One of Most Relaxed Cities

It seems that Columbus, Ohio is one of the least stressed cities in the country!  I’ve always suspected this, but Forbes has just confirmed it.  It certainly was mine and Tony’s experience when we moved to New Albany 15 years ago.  And for 13 years, I have been telling Buyers relocating to Central Ohio that they were in for a treat – they could give up a long commute, would find polite drivers on the road, and friendly people everywhere they went. 

Columbus #5 for Stress Free Living

 In determining which cities were the least stressed, Forbes evaluated categories which correlate to stress – commute time, # hours worked, and health factors since health closely related to stress.  The study revealed that fewer than 4% of the population in Columbus, Ohio is stuck in morning traffic.  When we moved here Columbus was pretty much a “20 minute town” – In New Albany, we could get pretty much where ever we wanted in 20 minutes or less.  We may not be a 20 minute town any longer, but we’re not far from it!

12 Homes have sold so far this year in Fenway compared to 11 this time last year.  The average price per square foot has increased from $133 to $135 year over year, and the average Fenway sales price has increased from $705,454 in 2009 to $763,282 in 2010.

NACC Homes Sold 3rd Quarter 2010 YTD

Following are all homes sold in New Albany Country Club neighborhoods in so far this year.  Last year there were only 64 homes sold by the 3rd quarter, compared to this year’s 84.  Currently there are 94 homes for sale in NACC neighborhoods and 18 in contract.  For more detail, feel free to search the MLS  yourself.

Columbus home values continue to rise which is good news for central Ohio. The average Central Ohio sale price for the first nine months of the year is $161,204 up 7.4 percent from the beginning of 2010 according to the Columbus Board of REALTORS®.  Find out what your home is worth today.
